Youthful Exuberance, Maturity and Eternity

I love the book of Ecclesiastes. It’s definitely one of my favorite books to read in the Bible. I was thinking about this year, my age(I’m in my late teens at the moment) and just life in general. Apparently some argue that the 12 disciples of Jesus were in their teens when they decided to follow Jesus! I’m not sure how true that is, but what i do definitely believe is that they were below 30.

On Maturity…

In society today, people are either classified as babies, children, teens or adults. However i think the expectation of maturity greatly differs in various parts of the world. Someone else suggested that Mary the mother of Jesus was in her late teens(16-20) when she was pregnant to give birth to Jesus and betrothed to be married to Joseph. This also is a huge shock to me! Coming from Nigeria, in my opinion and from my perspective, there’s a lower expectation for teenagers to be mature in that context(Seems that way to me!). Studying in the UK, my observation from amongst my friendship circles has been varied. Whilst some still doubt they believe in the institution of marriage, some are engaged to be married by 20/21. The latter has also been a huge culture shock to me as well! However, i greatly admire the fact that many start to work on paid jobs from their teenage years in the UK. I believe this helps to increase their self-confidence as well as expose young adults to the value of responsibility.

Ecclesiastes 12:1 would advice,

Remember your Creator
    in the days of your youth,
before the days of trouble come
    and the years approach when you will say,
    “I find no pleasure in them”

I remember we had this verse stuck somewhere on the wall, when i went to my Christian boarding school in Nigeria. Although i never really paid attention to it, these words are plaguing my mind once again today.

On Eternity…

It is a lie to believe that you won’t ever die. It’s not reality. It might be optimistic, but it’s not reality.  I want more than optimism, i want reality.  So why waste your time on what does not satisfy? It’s meaningless. Why waste your time clinging to the spirit of the age? It’s all fleeting, passing away quickly.

On Youthful Exuberance…

The young shall grow.  Youth is wasted on the young, says an online blog i read today. I don’t believe you have to be foolish because you’re young. I believe we need to call more young people to maturity rather than pampering them. Sadly, as a young teenager, i’ve been to so many christian youth groups that feed one another with video games and meaningless conversations. Don’t get me wrong- I believe there is a room for light talk and a bit of banter. However, i find that the older people get to be taught the ‘meaty’ stuff. There’s nothing as beautiful as seeing devoted and dedicated young people who have wisdom at a young age. I love reading about the lifestyle of John the Baptist- this man that was described by Jesus as a burning and a shining lamp, and the greatest man born of woman. This man lived a radical lifestyle of prayer, fasting and meditation on the Word, and was martyred at 30. That may look so foolish on this side of time but then Jesus would answer and defend this man’s life and say, ‘Wisdom will be justified by her children’.  In other ways, “I will vindicate this man’s lifestyle on that day. He will be great for billions and billions of years in the eternal city. You have said he is demonised, but i will openly declare the wisdom in this man’s choices. And though it seems like a short time to live in this present age, this man’s eyes are fixed on something more, something lasting of greater splendor, beauty, magnificence and glory”.

The pursuit of happiness, beauty, relevance…

My heart overflows with a noble theme

Its a land full of ponderings. A land full of wisdom. A land ancient, and famous for its mystery throughout the ages

There’s a vast world within. Not for the faint. Silence. Solitude.

Life’s a paradox; The only way up is down

The only way to live is to die.

Vanity upon vanity all is vanity. I’m searching for reality. I’m searching for happiness. I’m searching for beauty. I’m searching for relevance.

The voice of humanity echoes through my mind.

I once met a wise Teacher

He claimed to be the answer to the voices in my head.

The yelling of humanity.

He said, “the only way to live is to die. You’ll come alive when you learn to die”

He walked me through this mysterious land. He beckoned me to go with Him. He was taking me to my destiny.


I nearly said no, but then i saw then i saw the Fire in His Eyes.

There was something about those eyes. Desire.

I went with Him, still going with Him.

Oh the beauty of Transcendence! Happy Holiness, Joyful Righteousness.

Though i walk through the valley of the shadow of death, i will fear no evil.

The questions of the great philosophers answered!

Now i must embrace my pilgrimage to the eternal city.

I’m an ambassador, inviting all to the wedding.

For in that day, the first shall be the last, the last shall be the first. Kings and paupers. Queens and maids. The rich and the powerful and the forgotten of the earth.

The great Equaliser.

Therefore you kings, be wise. Be warned you rulers of the earth,

The Lord will march out like a champion, like a warrior he will stir up His zeal, with a shout He will raise up the battle cry and will triumph over His enemies.

(P.S  I have no idea exactly what that was haha but i was having a good time writing that :). I have also referenced 2 Bible verses in the end- Psalm 2:8 and Isaiah 42:13)

Fellowshipping with the Holy Spirit

Here’s a question for some thought: Why do we exist? Why are we alive? Why are you on a planet called earth that’s apparently in a galaxy called Milky Way by scientists. This galaxy is also apparently just one galaxy in a vast expanse that no man knows the ends of called the universe. What’s the point?

Did you ever know that you will never cease to exist. Okay so let’s fast forward to a billion years from now. Did you know you can make plans for a billion years from now?

If you’re a christian, i’m guessing you’re having some thoughts about possible answers to these questions. But i’ll like to ask- yeah we’ve been saved by Jesus, and we’ve been brought into the family of God. This is glorious! But why do we even have to be here now if God’s saved us already? God could have decided to take us straight to be with Him after He saved us but He chose not to.

I think the answer is very simple but easily forgotten. It is so easy to live under the sun, using Solomon’s words. It is so easy to be caught up in the daily activities of life, even as a Christian, without living a life of meaning. It’s so easy to be caught up in anxiety, distractions and the spirit of the age that blinds us to why we exist in the first place.

Jesus in His prayer to the Father declared, ‘Now this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent’. Wow there we go! This is the point of salvation. This is the point of life. It’s so simple that it is easy to forget. We exist and we will exist in eternity for the Knowledge of God.

I’ve been thinking about a certain aspect of living a life of meaning(The Knowledge of God). This is referred to as the Fellowship of the Spirit in scripture.

2 Corinthians 13:14 says-
May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

I want to go straight to the point. I heard this quote from someone, ‘You walk in the Spirit as much as you talk to the Spirit’. Holy Spirit is the teacher, the helper, the Spirit of Jesus. Jesus said it was better than He went away because the Holy Spirit was coming. He said the Holy Spirit comes to dwell in us forever. Did you know in a billion years, even in your resurrected body, the Holy Spirit will still be living in you as a Teacher and Helper? Do you know God longs for you to talk to Him. We would refer to this as prayer. But why does He require us to ask Him for things before He gave us? James 4:3 clearly says we have not because we don’t ask. I believe God knows that when we talk to Him, and turn our attention to Him it opens up our inner man to encounter and connect with Him. Hence, prayer is more than religious activity. It is the way to a life of meaning. It is a way into fellowship with God. Prayer is life to the soul, as water is life to the body.

God created us for fellowship with Him. He created that interior world on the inside of you for His Presence to dwell and rest in. Just a simple practical exercise if you’re reading this. Close your eyes. Sit quiet before God. You see that interior screen, the interior world, the Holy Spirit is waiting there for you right now. God really does hear you when you talk. He’s more real than anything else is on the earth. Many times we know the doctrines of prayer, but now you get to apply it. You actually get to be a doer of the Word. There’s no time better than now. Your inner man is God’s garden. Jesus said so. He spoke about the planting of the Word into the heart(Luke 8:15). Now you may be wondering what to say to the Holy Spirit. Take the Word(you can try something as simple as Genesis 1:1 that talks about God being the Creator), and use it as conversation material. Also allow Him talk back to you. As we abide(talk to God) in God, God abides(talks to us) in us- John 15. I’m not saying you hear an audible voice(although He may decide to do that, the point is not about how He speaks but that He speaks). He’ll make you discern His Presence in a small way. Maybe He’ll give you a picture. Maybe He’ll whisper something in your spirit. However, we must make room for Him to talk back to us. Infact i would advice, to be quiet for longer than you actually talk. Just sit still in His Presence and allow Him wash you with His words. Gaze into the beauty of God like David. Become a Mary of Bethany that lives a life of one thing. Lean into Jesus like the Apostle John. Another practical advice- having music on the background can help. It helps me. But feel free to move along with where you’re sensing God is taking you.

As simple as it is- that is what fellowshipping with the Spirit is about. This is the the way to a vibrant heart, a renewed mind. If you want to change your emotional chemistry, this is the way. Even as the disciples on the road to Emmaus said their hearts burned within them as Jesus spoke to them. This is the way to the fullness of joy. This is the way to happiness. This is the way to peace. This is way to utter satisfaction, contentment. This is the way to encountering the love of God. Paul says that the Holy Spirit is the One that pours out the love of God in that inner space called the heart.

It’s so simple right? Yes that’s the point! Anyone can do it. Anyone can love God and fulfil the greatest commandment by living from the inside out. Now do it 🙂 Don’t just talk about it, do it. Schedule time to do this. If this is the point of life, then go after it with all your heart. Also, did you know if you spent your life doing this, there are eternal rewards? This is because the beginning to living a sermon on the Mount lifestyle(Matthew 5,6 & 7) starts with connecting with the Spirit of Jesus inside us. Jesus makes it very clear in several places in the Bible that we can lay up treasures in the age to come. He makes it clear that although He loves all believers equally, our greatness in eternity is not the same. Even Paul says our resurrected bodies are of varying glory, one like the Sun, and one like the Moon(1 Corinthians 15:41,42).This is how much God wants time with you! He’s in love with you! He wants you! I’ll end with Jesus’s exhortation to us as His disciples.

Matthew 6:25b- “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?“. Luke 10:41,42- “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, 42 but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.

Stepping into 2013

Wow i can’t believe 2012 is over! Went quickly! I’ve also had this blog for over a year surprisingly :O. I just looked at my blog post last year on New Year’s Resolutions and i’m surprised with how my writing style has changed just in one year! Again, This has been the best year of my life so far! 😀

Its funny cause i remember saying the same thing at the end of 2011. And i remember saying the same thing at the end of 2010!

Seems like life keeps getting better and better by the year! :D. Why’s this?

Well, life always gets better with Jesus! I wouldn’t say i’ve had any major miracles this year. And i wouldn’t say i haven’t had many disappointments either. But really with Jesus you’re not affected by your circumstances at all. Your emotions don’t go up, down, left, right and centre. Its always JOY!

JOY UNSPEAKABLE AND FULL OF GLORY! The more you know Him, the more you love Him, the more you love life, the better life becomes. It doesn’t matter what happens in life- your eyes are always fixed on Jesus! You can’t take your eyes off Him cause He is beautiful! What a glorious thought!Its just like Paul said in Philippians 4:11-13,

11 I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. 12 I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. 13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength.

I’ve stepped into this place in my relationship with God that i never thought i’d be in. When i was 15 i never thought i’d one day be able to hear God’s voice all the time, 24/7. I never thought i’d stop being shy. I never thought i’d know what God’s plans for me are. Many many other glorious things have happened- too many i can’t list. Infact, at a point, i felt as if God was doing so much work in me that i started to get confused. I tried to keep record of everything but it was just impossible!

Can’t wait for next year! Maybe there’s an important lesson i’ve learnt so far. Took me 2010, 2011 and 2012 to learn this- but thank God i finally have 😀

Life always gets better with Jesus! So i know 2013 will be better! Don’t know exactly how i’ll dance to the heartbeat of the Father, but i’ll dance with Him through it all! Fix your eyes on Jesus as you step deeper into the river of God in 2013. 🙂

An Adventure with the King

I always want my posts on my blog as well as everything else in my life to be an overflow from my ‘secret place’ of intimacy with Jesus. He really is altogether lovely! If you feel as if your christian life is boring then there is a problem. Your christian life should be an adventure with the King. He is so precious; so loving and caring!

I went to church today and on my way back home with my family we visited some family friends. One of our family friends commented on how they felt our church service was too long and how they would never be able to manage if they were at a church like that. This comment was made in the context of church being ‘boring’. Considering the fact that i’ve felt the same way in the past, i know how this can be. Many times in the past i could hardly stand being in church for an hour. I just wanted to get out of that building and watch a movie or play some video games or something else. This is how it is for some christians. They think that Church is a place to go to out of obligation to obey the scripture that says, ‘Not forsaking the assembling of the brethren’.

I believe that until the love of Jesus conquers and breaks those walls of religion down, church or your entire christian walk will always seem boring to you.

Our daddy longs and yearns for intimacy. He wants to be our friend. He wants us to jump on his laps and talk to him. He wants to sing his heart to us and tell us how precious we are to him. I wish you knew the pleasures of being with daddy. He is so kind and gracious. So beautiful and such a brave Father we can always trust and lean on. In his radiant presence there is fullness of joy, and at his right hand there are pleasures forever. The very air of heaven is wrapped around the love of daddy. You cannot live a moment in eternity without being conscious of the love of Jesus. You cannot live a moment in eternity without being conscious of the pleasures at the right hand of daddy. The world brings temporal pleasures but oh you need to know that the pleasures at the right hand of daddy are eternal. They are forevermore. They will never cease or end.

We must always remember that the Bible says we are seated together with Christ in heavenly places. This is more than theology or theory. You need to know what this means experientially! What pleasures are present where you are seated NOW in the heavenly places with Christ! It is indescribable!

We must learn to come as little children to our dad. Above all the attributes of God, He is primarily a Father. Our wonderful great dad. We could never ask for a better dad! Jesus expressed this fatherly attribute of the Father in Matthew 19:14 when he said-…Leave the children alone! Allow the little ones to come to Me, and do not forbid or restrain or hinder them, for such [as these] is the kingdom of heaven composed’. Remember that the Bible says Jesus is the exact visible representation of the Father. I pray we can all learn to come to the King as little children. Many times that the Lord has shown me in a dream/vision that He was going to heal someone or anything else He has always represented the people as children. He truly is our dad, and we truly are his kids! His beloved kids in whom He is well pleased! 😀

Song of solomon 2:14

14 [So I went with him, and when we were climbing the rocky steps up the hillside, my beloved shepherd said to me] O my dove, [while you are here] in the seclusion of the clefts in the solid rock, in the sheltered and secret place of the cliff, let me see your face, let me hear your voice; for your voice is sweet, and your face is lovely.


I don’t want anything without a revelation!


It just struck me how many christians read the Bible and see it just as a story or a few words. I remember trying to get on with one of those ‘Bible in a year’ plans. At the end of it i just gave up. The Bible actually bored the living daylight out of me to be honest. I was trying to tick the boxes. ‘Oh i’ve read 5 chapters today yay’.. But then i was struggling. Another way i’ve tried to read the Bible in the past as a young immature christian was to open it randomly and read the first thing i saw. It was like a magic trick. I closed my eyes then opened the Bible; the first thing i saw was what God wanted to say to me lol. I remember hearing a joke from Joyce Meyer once. She said she used to do the same thing in the past, and then one day she opened it and it was somewhere in lamentations she read, ‘WOE BE UNTO YOU, YOU WICKED SINNER’. I couldn’t help but laugh to that cause i could relate to it entirely.

For others, the Bible is just to be read on a sunday. For the rest of the week it gets dusty. Don’t make me get you lol. Don’t think you would ever have a glimpse of an idea of who God is if you read the Bible just on sundays, and listen to a sermon from the pastor at your church!

I’m not saying getting ‘read through the Bible in a year’ plans won’t work out for you. It will work out for you, if you have the right motive behind it. If its just an exercise out of compulsion, or out of the fact that you want to make God happy with you, then its a waste of time. God doesn’t need you to read your Bible to be happy with you. You are not doing Him a favor. Reading your Bible just on sundays is definitely not how you can grow in the knowledge of God too. I might as well just add now that if there’s anything in your life that you’re using to replace the time you need to spend with God to know Him more, then there’s a problem. Work God around your schedule not your schedule around God. If anything needs to leave your schedule on a daily basis, it mustn’t be God.

I had tried all these methods in the past so i know how it is. And sometimes people really do want to read the word and get into it. Sometimes they really want to, but they can’t. Its almost like they’re striving.

I believe that strivings should never exist in a good relationship with God. Many times we get caught up trying to do things by ourselves, instead of relying on the power of God. You want to have faith? You don’t need to practice methods or routines; Cry out to God, ‘HELP MY UNBELIEF’. You truly from your heart want to spend time with God? And read His word? Cry out to Him, ‘Lord i need you!’. Prayer must always be the first line of action if we want a good relationship with God. God gives grace(the power of the Holy Spirit), and more grace to the humble. He wants you to realise you can’t do it on your own and you need Him to help you. You cannot kick the Holy Spirit out of your daily businesses. If you do, everything crumbles down. When Jesus left his disciples He gave them the Holy Spirit, to be with them. He is your counselor, helper, intercessor, advocate, stand-by, and strengthener.

We must never read any verse in the Bible without a revelation. No, not even a word. I know about quite a lot in the Bible now, but i don’t know them. The difference between knowing them and knowing about them is the revelation. The revelation from the Spirit of God. The breath of God upon every word you read, imparting a spiritual knowledge to you; revealing the great and mighty mysteries of the Godhead. This was why Paul prayed for the corinthians that they might have a Spirit of wisdom and revelation. Without a revelation the Bible is just words and stories. I have an agnostic friend who has read the entire Bible but still doesn’t believe in God. Without the breath of God, the word is not living to you. The Bible says God has exalted all His word above all His name. Think of all the mighty names of God, His word is respected more by Him than His names. The word of God is Life to your bones, and to your soul. You would know when you have a revelation from the word because you would never remain the same after. It is not about singing ‘Jesus loves me yes i know for the Bible tells me so’. Do you really know He loves you? That type of knowledge comes with revelation. And it was not until i had a revelation on the love of God i could describe the love of God as a mighty flood that fills all your being, and tears you apart. His love is fierce, it shakes you together. It transforms you and moves you into His presence. It leaves you with hunger and thirst for more of Him.

Don’t ever read any part of the Bible without a revelation. Ask God for a revelation and He will give you.

Deuteronomy 4:29 (AMP)- 29 But if from there you will seek (inquire for and require as necessity) the Lord your God, you will find Him if you [truly] seek Him with all your heart [and mind] and soul and life.


A Thirst and Hunger For Righteousness

I pray in the name of Jesus, that as you read this there will be, a demonstration of the power of the Holy Spirit, operating in your minds, and stirring your hearts and minds with the most holy emotions. I pray that this post will be inspired by the Holy Spirit, for without His inspiration these are mere words. Finally, i pray like Paul prayed for the Ephesians, to the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, that He may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation, of insight into mysteries and secrets in the deep and intimate knowledge of Him; By having the eyes of your heart flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you, and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints (His set-apart ones).

I cannot begin to put in words how thirsty and hungry i have found myself for a deeper knowledge and understanding of who God is, and how much i want to be what He wants me to be, and to be holy as He is holy. I have found that i’m in a real big need of help for this. For example, sometimes i may behave nice to someone, but deep inside there’s something not right. Something yelling out at them and in constrast to my visible actions. And it doesn’t bother me one bit about admitting and sharing this, because i have come to have hope and put my faith in the promises of God, that my heart will be purified by His greatness of the power.

I’m happy i can feel the thirst in my heart for Holiness, because that’s the first step to allowing God to transform you and transfigure you into His likeness. God spoke to me some days ago and He said: ‘I am always ready to transform you, if you are humble enough to let me. I give more grace to the humble, and empower them to do what i want them to do, and to be equal to anything. But i set myself against the proud and the haughty. They are too proud to realise they need help. For it is Not by your power nor by your might or striving but by My Spirit, who lives in you’  

The Bible says those that hunger and thirst for righteousness will be completely satisfied(Matthew 5:6). If you want to be a fruit bearing christian, the first step is to have that hunger and thirst. Ask God to reveal the darkness in your life, and when He does, admit to your weaknesses. That way He will give you grace to overcome your shortcomings and weaknesses. He will shine His light upon you, and lift you up from the miry clay, setting your feet upon a rock. I have also come to realise that the only way God’s power can be revealed through my life, is through my weaknesses. If i’m strong, then i’m not in need of His power. But because i am weak, i’m strong IN HIM, and His power comes upon me and pitches a tent over me.

I have truly come to realise that the christian life is based on grace through faith. Everything we get from God is a gift of grace. We never deserve it. But because of the cross, God looks to the right of His throne, and Jesus intercedes for us continually, therefore IN CHRIST, we deserve the grace of God. But we can not receive God’s grace if we do not believe. We are saved by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8) and this could apply to many other ways in which God bestows his grace upon his children. Faith is the hand receiving the grace of God already made available.  We need to come like little children, and believe what God says without any doubt, and receive his power to overcome every evil tendency. I dare you to believe the promises of God today. Only believe and you will see the glory of God(John 11:40). And even then, apart from Him WE CAN DO NOTHING. He is the vine and we are the branches. If the branches are cut away from the tree, can they bear any fruits?(John 15:5). Therefore, we should cry out daily to the Lord and lift up our voices to His holy mountain saying, ‘HELP MY UNBELIEF'(Mark 9:24). At that point He comes to our rescue, and through His word, helps our unbelief, for Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.

God is sovereign. He reigns in all the affairs of men. He sits on His throne and laughs in mockery at the foolishness of the supposedly wise people in the world, and He delights in the ways of the righteous, for they are the ones that are truly wise. For their wisdom is not of their own, but of Him. He uses the weak and foolish things in the world for His glory, and shames the wisdom of man through them. The knowledge of the sovereign Lord, and the true belief in the truth that JESUS IS LORD, brings the people of God into a state of rest and peace. The knowledge of this has transformed and renewed my mind in a great way, for i know that all things work together for those that love God and are called according to His purpose. I don’t have to live in fear or anxiety, because Jesus is Lord. I don’t have to care about my circumstances because Jesus is Lord. O death, where is thy sting, o grave where is thy victory? For to live is Christ, and to die is gain. And Jesus has defeated sin and death, and by the glorious power of the Father, was raised from the dead and is now seated at His right hand. The Lord may not always take away my difficulties and problems; No, He may even give me more and more of them and afflict me as He pleases. For can the potter say to the clay, ‘Why have you made me thus so?’. The Lord sits on His throne. Our God is in heaven; He does whatever He pleases(Psalm 115:3). But in this will i rejoice in and will i bless the name of the Lord: He is faithful to His promises. He is abundant in mercy, grace and lovingkindness. He never gives His people more than they can bear(1 Corinthians 10:13) and He always provides a way out where there seems to be no way. He is true to His promises, and He will never leave us nor forsake us in our weaknesses. He strengthens and hardens His chosen ones to difficulties, yes He will help them; Yes He will hold them up and retain them with His victorious right hand of rightness and justice(Isaiah 41:10).

Therefore i have an eternal hope. A hope that never dies. For that same power that lifted up Jesus from the dead is at work in me. Think of a hurricane or the fiercest of storms; still that power is greater than all of these. Therefore, i rejoice in the hope of experiencing and enjoying the glory of God by the power of the Spirit in me.The surpassing, immeasurable, unlimited, greatness of His power in and for us who believe, bringing us into deeper knowledge of God and the wonders of His person, exerting that power in us, that He may also continually restore our mortal bodies. For death comes by the works of the flesh, by Life by the fruits of the works of the Spirit in us. Therefore, i offer my body as an implement of righteousness, becoming a slave and prisoner to the will of the Spirit. I present my body, mind, will, and emotions, as a living sacrifice, holy, devoted, consecrated, and well pleasing to God which is my reasonable service and spiritual worship.

Now i don’t have to worry about anything. I look to the Face of the Lord, and not His hands. For when i look to His face, He opens His hands. Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and all its righteousness and all these other things shall be added unto you.

One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek, inquire for, and insistently require: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord [in His presence] all the days of my life, to behold and gaze upon the beauty, the sweet attractiveness and the delightful loveliness of the Lord and to meditate, consider, and inquire in His temple(Psalm 27:4). And that one thing He has granted me by the blood of the Lamb, and by the righteousness He imputes to His people; For the righteous shall be planted in the house of the Lord. They shall flourish in His courts. Growing in grace, they shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be full of sap [of spiritual vitality] and [rich in the] verdure [of trust, love, and contentment](Psalm 92:13-14). He just wants us to come as we are. With all our broken pieces, and all our shameful scars. He wants to heal us with the power of His love. He wants to set us free, for where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty. Free from sin, fear, doubt, strivings, labor, tiredness, hopelessness, shame… the list is countless. He wants to give us beauty for ashes. The beauty of Holiness. For He said: Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.](Matthew 11:28). Leave your luggage for the Lord in His presence, and take His yoke upon yourself. For His yoke is wholesome, useful, goodnot harsh, hard, sharp, or pressing, but comfortable, gracious, and pleasant, and His burden is light and easy to be borne.
