An Adventure with the King

I always want my posts on my blog as well as everything else in my life to be an overflow from my ‘secret place’ of intimacy with Jesus. He really is altogether lovely! If you feel as if your christian life is boring then there is a problem. Your christian life should be an adventure with the King. He is so precious; so loving and caring!

I went to church today and on my way back home with my family we visited some family friends. One of our family friends commented on how they felt our church service was too long and how they would never be able to manage if they were at a church like that. This comment was made in the context of church being ‘boring’. Considering the fact that i’ve felt the same way in the past, i know how this can be. Many times in the past i could hardly stand being in church for an hour. I just wanted to get out of that building and watch a movie or play some video games or something else. This is how it is for some christians. They think that Church is a place to go to out of obligation to obey the scripture that says, ‘Not forsaking the assembling of the brethren’.

I believe that until the love of Jesus conquers and breaks those walls of religion down, church or your entire christian walk will always seem boring to you.

Our daddy longs and yearns for intimacy. He wants to be our friend. He wants us to jump on his laps and talk to him. He wants to sing his heart to us and tell us how precious we are to him. I wish you knew the pleasures of being with daddy. He is so kind and gracious. So beautiful and such a brave Father we can always trust and lean on. In his radiant presence there is fullness of joy, and at his right hand there are pleasures forever. The very air of heaven is wrapped around the love of daddy. You cannot live a moment in eternity without being conscious of the love of Jesus. You cannot live a moment in eternity without being conscious of the pleasures at the right hand of daddy. The world brings temporal pleasures but oh you need to know that the pleasures at the right hand of daddy are eternal. They are forevermore. They will never cease or end.

We must always remember that the Bible says we are seated together with Christ in heavenly places. This is more than theology or theory. You need to know what this means experientially! What pleasures are present where you are seated NOW in the heavenly places with Christ! It is indescribable!

We must learn to come as little children to our dad. Above all the attributes of God, He is primarily a Father. Our wonderful great dad. We could never ask for a better dad! Jesus expressed this fatherly attribute of the Father in Matthew 19:14 when he said-…Leave the children alone! Allow the little ones to come to Me, and do not forbid or restrain or hinder them, for such [as these] is the kingdom of heaven composed’. Remember that the Bible says Jesus is the exact visible representation of the Father. I pray we can all learn to come to the King as little children. Many times that the Lord has shown me in a dream/vision that He was going to heal someone or anything else He has always represented the people as children. He truly is our dad, and we truly are his kids! His beloved kids in whom He is well pleased! 😀

Song of solomon 2:14

14 [So I went with him, and when we were climbing the rocky steps up the hillside, my beloved shepherd said to me] O my dove, [while you are here] in the seclusion of the clefts in the solid rock, in the sheltered and secret place of the cliff, let me see your face, let me hear your voice; for your voice is sweet, and your face is lovely.

  1. AWW i love your heart! excellent post! Personally, from reading the scriptures Ive come to realise that we were not only made to bring glory to God but to actually ”Enjoy’ him… While some people just ‘tolerate’ God…smh lol
If You read genesis (the creation stories and all..) you will see how God valued the fellowship he had with man and David also talks of how much joy is in Gods presence. When a person really really spends some worthwhile time with God, it’ll be realised there is absolutely noting more precious, beautiful or fulfilling than just sitting at his feet and allowing him to marvel you with his beauty, glory, power and love.
Its sad how some believers do not realise this and think personal and/or communal fellowship is unnecessary. The more ive grown in intimacy with him, even my prayers have changed, its been more of conversations, discussions and complaints (yes, lol!) rather than long-winded admirable prayer points.

P.s: you should read desiring God by John Piper…Awesome book!

    1. Thank you saratu :). Lmao you’re so funny! Its true though- people always think they have to ‘tolerate’ God. Like He’s boring or something smh lol. Most of them are usually the boring ones from my observation :P. I guess people tend to make things over-religious sometimes instead of just being real before God and talking to Him like the Father that He is to us. We must always have to try and make our prayers impress the person standing next to us lol. Actually Psalm 55:17 talks about God listening to our complaints too :P. From experience those are the times the Holy Spirit just whispers something profound to your heart. I’ve come to learn that God actually knows how to crack jokes to us when we make complaints to him :D.

By the way, I love John Piper! I’ll look for that book :D. I heard of another book he wrote on the emotions of God. How God laughs; which is obviously different from the picture most people have in their minds of God as someone who is always with a straight serious face.

Lastly, I saw hannatu about a week ago :D. I told her to say Hi x
