Christians have been called to different ministries for the building up of the body of Christ(Ephesians 4:10-12). Some people have been called to have a healing ministry, some called to have a prophetic or worship ministry. Some called to preach prosperity, some called to preach faith, some called to preach Holiness and sometimes you may also find people that just preach it all. My point is, i believe with all my heart that all ministries cannot be the same and every ministry is a member of Christ’s body and therefore each ministry has a particular function in the body of Christ and benefit from each other. I don’t believe God sees any ministry as ‘better’ than another because Christ sees the church as a whole unit not apart from each other. As small as the eye is you may think it is very irrelevant but stilll you cannot ignore the fact that if the eye is hurt the whole body gets affected, and if the eye’s sight is very clear then the whole body is also affected positively. That is how the body of Christ(the church) is.
However, i believe that sometimes teachers of the word can get so carried away with their calling that they forget to always maintain a balance in Biblcal teaching. One of my favorite Bible scriptures is 1 Peter 5(AMP) and it warns us to be well balanced because the Devil roams around in fierce hunger seeking someone to devour. This means when we get out of balance we become more susceptible from attack from the Devil. Being out of balance is opening a door for the Devil in our lives: our thoughts, words, actions, and every part of our life.
I have had a problem for many many years. I always prayed all the time and asked God for a lot. It was like i brought a shopping list everytime i was in church for him to look at. And the sad truth is God has not answered tons and tons of my prayers. And only now that i’m 17 have i really discovered that God is not going to answer them. No, never. Oh and it was worse when i left church. It was like i just got a magic charm i was going to test at home.I always wanted to use my ‘faith’ to kick out all the mountains in my life without having any understanding of what faith really was. I thought it was about my willpower and my determination to programme my brain and force it to believe what God wanted me to believe for him to bless me. As a kid i remember a time we had just got back from church and i was with my brother. Oh i was so excited and it was time to practice what i had just learnt. If i asked a mountain to get removed from where it was and be cast down into the sea as long as i believed with all my head then it will happen. I remember talking to the pillows on my bed saying ‘Oh you pillows, be thou removed and be thou cast into my wardrobe’ and nothing happened. I had just learnt that Jesus once told his disciples that the reason why they could not cast out demons from people was because they didn’t have enough faith. So it was time to recharge my faith. I shook my head twice to recharge my faith and said again louder and used my index finger to point at the pillow, “Be thou removed and be cast unto the floor’ and again nothing happened. I had to give up in the end cause nothing happened. As stupid as that might sound that was the idea i had of faith and speaking to mountains. I had no idea that i could recharge my faith by reading the Bible. I thought i had to shake my head in a way and use my fingers to increase my faith. The Bible says God has given each and every Christian a measure of Faith. Everytime we study and meditate upon God’s word, that faith grows. I believe with all my heart that today Christians haven’t received the full promise of healing the sick for all those that believe because they haven’t studied God’s word enough to know that in heaven there is no sickness and when you pray for healing you’re simply bringing that what is already established in heaven down on earth and nothing more. Anyway that’s a topic for another day so i’ll go straight to the point now.
Its so amazing and i’m eternally thankful for the the way God has revealed how we as Christians should pray and ask him for things.
1 John 5:14-15 says: And this is the confidence (the assurance, the privilege of boldness) which we have in Him: [we are sure] that if we ask anything (make any request) according to His will (in agreement with His own plan), He listens to and hears us. And if (since) we [positively] know that He listens to us in whatever we ask, we also know [with settled and absolute knowledge] that we have [granted us as our present possessions] the requests made of Him.
I pray that every Christian comes to understand this principle deeply and that God gives each and every one of us a personal revelation on this. Recently, The Holy Spirit reminded me of all that time i never had answers and i could hear him speak clearly to me saying ‘I love you too much to give you anything outside of my will’ and it was very comforting when i knew this. I think as Christians our primary aim should be searching for the will of God before prayer than praying at all. Its good to always pray, but we have to keep praying to God to show us his will and tell us what we need to pray about and how we should pray. 5 words of prayer in accordance to the will of God in far more powerful than a million words of prayer, for 5 hours in a day! Jesus himself said that praying for long hours is not what makes your prayer to be heard by God. If we would grasp the power that comes when we pray according to the will of God, our lives will be completely and totally changed.
We can easily learn from Jesus’s prayers to the Father when he was on earth. Immediately after Jesus praises God in the Lord’s Prayer by saying ‘Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed(which means kept Holy) be your name’ he says ‘Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven’. I believe that Prayer involves both heaven and earth and when we pray to the Father in the name of Jesus, many things happen in the Spirit realm. There is an interconnection between heaven and earth when we pray and when we pray according to the will of God, we declare what is already in heaven on earth; in the physical realm; and we call out its manifestation from Heaven on Earth.
Jesus said in Matthew 18:18: Truly I tell you, whatever you forbid and declare to be improper and unlawful on earth must be what is already forbidden in heaven, and whatever you permit and declare proper and lawful on earth must be what is already permitted in heaven. This verse shows the relationship between heaven and earth which i believe is brought together by the blood of Jesus. Jesus is the go-between us and the Father. Therefore, whatever is already done in heaven by the will of God, will be done on earth when we ask God, and whatever is already, bound in heaven has to be bound on earth when we pronounce it bound in the name of Jesus. In Luke 22:42-43, as soon as Jesus prayed for the will of God to be done, an angel came down from heaven to strengthen Him. That tells us something. Although the will of God may be hard for us sometimes, when we pray for His will to be done, he strengthens us and gives us the power and grace to go through our hardships and come out victorious. God is the beginning and end of time and because as human beings we can only see the present we might not always realise that everything God wills to happen in our lives is for out own good. And it is hard i know! It can be so hard! Even Jesus found it hard but yet he prayed for the will of God to abound.
Whichever way, God’s will has to abound so u might as well pray for his strength and grace than be miserable to go through with ur hardships with scars. God will definitely make sure you’re victorious but the regret you will have at the end from now being submissive to God’s will is terrible! There will be a lot of things u will miss out on the way from ur stubborness.
Let us learn to always declare the will of God on earth because there is so much power in doing that. Like i said earlier i think healing is a very good example. In heaven there isn’t sickness or disease. When you speak healing in the name of Jesus to the body of someone ill you’re simply declaring what is already done in heaven. And there should be no cause to doubt, because it is not about you, but about what Jesus did when he died on the cross. He bore all our sin, guilt and sickness. So in heaven there is no sin or guilt and sickness. Even un our Christian lives when we speak out God’s word and say we have already been crucified with Christ and we live in obedience to the Spirit of God, that is something that has been done 2000 years ago by Christ. In heaven it is done. So when we confess it on earth, we declare what is done in heaven and the manifestation starts to occur on earth.
Prayer according to the will of God will change your life like never before.
